Autumnal Camping In Pike Lake

It’s been a couple of year since I last had the opportunity to go camping. And after having my cute little dog, Bella for about 8 years, I realized that I haven’t taken her on any camping trips either. So, I decided that this would be the year to get out into the fresh air and introduce my dog to the joys of camping.

Alas, my plan was thwarted this spring as we had a family emergency to deal with but autumn is definitely a great time to camp as well. I decided on Pike Lake as it’s close to the city so if Bella wasn’t happy, I could take her home early. Plus, my parents would be able to come out for a picnic too!

As this is a photography blog, I’ll spare all the details of my trip although, I will say here that I was quite surprised by the amount of noise from other campers. Especially on my first night. One of the reasons I prefer camping off season is for the quiet but once again, people with noise sensitivities are being pushed out of public spaces thanks to radios and partiers.

Anyway, the first week of September was a great time to get outdoors as the leave just start changing color and as you all know, I love color! I knew that juggling a camera and a hyper little dog would be difficult so I decided to leave most of my photography until the end of my trip after my mom would take Bella home. This was a bad decision as the wind dramatically increased on my last night and wouldn’t stop until long after I came home. I do hope you enjoy what I was able to capture though. Hopefully, I’ll be visiting again later this month and will have more images for you!
