This year has been pretty quiet for me from a photography point of view. Musically, however, I’ve been quite busy. In July, I performed at the annual Downtown Sidewalk Sale in Saskatoon. Ninety minute sets in 30C heat was a killer but overall, it was a lot of fun.
This month, I busked at the Saskatoon Fringe Festival. My sets were throughout the week at various times and locations. It was an amazing if not, completely exhausting experience.
Most of the days when I had multiple sets, I had enough time to run home and grab a quick nap or snack. On a couple days though, I brought my camera with me to take a few snaps from around the festival. Here are a few that I’d like to share with you.
On day 1 of the festival, I did a general walk through talking photos of mostly fellow performers.
A few days later on August 4th, I thought it would fun to photograph the many dogs walking around Broadway. Admittedly, I should’ve done this earlier in the day as the lighting was not the greatest before my last set that day but street photography is a beast of it’s own for this reason.
As the warmer weather begins to fade with no sessions to speak of this year, I’m trying to decide on how to proceed with my photography. No matter what I decide to do though, I’ll always enjoy this kinds of fun low key photography and I hope to share more with you all in the near future.
