This past Saturday, June 15, was the Motorcycle Ride For Dad in Saskatoon. This event has been held annually across Canada since 2000 to raise money for prostate cancer research. The Saskatoon ride is quite an adventure starting at the Western Development Museum on Lorne Avenue and heading north through Martensville, Blaine Lake, Prince Albert, and back south to Warman.
The first I had heard of this event was when I belonged to the local amateur radio club. Part of this event goes down scenic Spadina Crescent downtown so some assistance with traffic control helps out the ride and the city. My dad is a prostate cancer survivor so we were both happy to help out in previous years. This year though, I took my camera to the ride route instead of my VHF handheld radio. Here are some of the photos I took of this year’s ride.
Please consider donating for prostate cancer awareness and research. You might just save a life!
